Delicate Antique French Silver Butter Dish By Foisil

A delicate Antique French Silver and Crystal butter dish by Beloni FOISIL

The piece outlines the refinement the table attained in the mid to late 1800s and very early 1900s.
The Crystal is delicately worked into a slightly dipping plate and is cut with floral designs and Laurel garlands. The edges of the dish are circled in silver, delicately carved with reeds circled by ribbons.

The Crystal butter dish itself is separate from the presentation dish, the main body is circled at the top with the same silver line of reeds and ribbon.
The cover of the dish is in crystal and worked with the same floral garlands cut into the crystal. The Finial or ‘Fretel’ is in solid silver silver and represents a wild berry, resting on a crown of leaves.

This lovely butter dish can be also be used to serve jam or marmalade..

The Hallmark is Minerve 1 -1st title (950/1000) – Hence 1838 to 1919 – Paris
