Delicate Antique French Silver Ice Cream Set By Delacquis

Lovely and Delicate Antique French Silver And Vermeil (18 carat gold) 13 piece Ice Cream Flatware service by ‘Maitre Orfèvre’ Delacquis & Cie.

This charming set can be compared to a set by Alphonse DEBAIN featured in ‘Le Couvert Et La Coutellerie de Table Française du XIX Siècle’ by David Allan, page 239.
It is an lovely work of art and features 12 individual spoons and 1 service spoon.
All pieces showcase the same ‘baton’ or stick shaped handle, decorated with floral scrolls and a medallion waiting for your initials!

What makes the set so special is the fact that each individual spoon is beautifully worked with a different ‘motif’ while sharing a similar center motif of a bouquet of flowers.
We hence have:
-A dragonfly flying above the bouquet.
-A bee hovering above the left hand side of the bouquet.
-A dragonfly coming from beneath the bouquet.
-A little robin on the lower left hand side of the bouquet
-A Butterfly rising below the bouquet
-A cricket resting on a leaf
-Finally one showcases a flower bouquet alone.
The main service spoons has the same bouquet graced by a large butterfly
All in all a lovely set!!
The details are very refined and delicate, just gorgeous.

The set is originally devised for ice cream, but can be used as a dessert set as well.
The set is in Silver and ‘Vermeil’ or gold plated silver and is beautifully preserved, with no dents to the pieces or losses, just exquisite!
There is no wear to the vermeil which is very subtly applied.
The Set comes in a presentation box.

The individual spoons are 5.31 inches long / The Service Spoon is 9.25 inches long

The Hallmark is Poincon A La Hure (Boars Head) for Paris smaller objects 800/1000 (2nd title silver)
