A central ring holds the legs firm.

The lovely white marble vase is delicately curved and upheld below by a gilded acanthus spoke ending in a gorgeous rosette.
The upper part of the marble vase is decorated 3 ribbon tied rose garland that have, on purpose a slightly rosier, guilt then the remainder of the Ormolu details.

The removable lids convert to a candle scone, and are decorated on the lid side by a Berry finial resting on acanthus leaves, while the other side is carved with acanthus leaves.

These lovely Louis XVI Style Cassolettes were in high fashion under Napoleon the Third’s reign.
They can be used to grace a mantelpiece or as candlesticks.
