Lovely French Silver Salad Service Set By Tallois

A Lovely and Refined Antique French Silver salad serving implement by Maîtres Orfèvres Paul TALLOIS.
Once again we chose this set because of the fact the tines and bowl were made of silver and not ivory or horn as was most commonly used.

The handles are beautifully worked in a Louis XV style or Rocaille Style with floral chutes and seashell shapes.
The middle part of the handle is lightly fluted and joins and links with the bowl and tines by a lovely shell & tulip design.

They are perfectly balanced and quite practical to use.
They are in very good condition, with the edge of the two implements dipped in 18 carat gold.

The Spoon measures 11.02 inches long.
The Fork measures 10.62 inches long.

The Hallmark is Minerve 1 -1st title – Hence 1838 to 1919 – Paris

The Makers Mark, while quite erased has still enough showing on each piece that we were able to identify it as AM TALLOIs which was the Makers Mark registered for Paul TALLOIS.
He registered his mark on April 16th 1907.
His workshop was located 19 Boulevard de Strasbourg in Paris
