18th Century French Silver Condiment Set By Guillaume F Rolland

Beautiful 4 pieces Antique French Silver and Crystal Condiment Set by Maître Orfèvre Guillaume François Rolland.

The 18th Century Silver Set is composed of 2 doubles cellars used for salt and pepper and two extra individual salt cellars.
All interiors are in cobalt blue crystal.

Each cellar is oval and stands on four silver feet. They are embellished with medallions and ribbon bows as well as garlands of silver pearls.
The center hold in the double cellars is decorated with acanthus leaves.

As usual pre revolutionary silver is always dear to us due to its rarity!
This set is lovely.

The measures given above are that of the double Cellars.
The single salt cellars measure: 2.95 inches long x 2.16 inches wide x 1.97 inches high

Photo # 6: You have the double L used under the same Henri Clavel as a Charge Mark starting July 1780.

Photo # 8: You have the Makers Mark for Maître Orfèvre Guillaume François Rolland showing his initials topped by a crowned Fleur de Lys with a ball below with 2 dots surrounding the fleur de lys.
Rolland registered his Mark on August 2nd 1777 with Master Silversmith Noel Piton as his godfather.
He is listed rue Jean Latier in Paris.
