19th Century French Gilt Bronze and Crystal Paper Weight

A charming Antique French Ormolu or Gilt Bronze and Crystal Paper Weight in the Shape of a ‘Mappemonde’ or World Map Globe.

Dating back to the Charles X era (1824/1830) the globe is detailed with longitude and latitude lines, with the foot of the globe decorated with a laurel leaves.
The square pedestal is made of pressed crystal, and rests on a square ring of laurel leaves decorated gilt bronze.

A lovely and practical desk decoration.
