Taking cues from Mythology this scene depicts 3 Nymphs standing over a young cupid and his mother in the midst of the forest.
The young child seems to recoil from the apparition.
The scene is completed by a little herd of sheep who symbolize innocence.
This drawing typical of the 19th Century romantic school is done in Ink and pink and brown wash.
