Gorgeous Antique French Silver and Crystal ‘Bonbonnière’ By Georges Fouquet Lapar

This charming piece is composed on a main crystal bowl wheel cut at the bottom into a star formation as well as on the lower part of the bowl.
The midsection is decorated with a beautifully carved silver laurel leaves garland that entirely circles the crystal.
The upper part of the crystal is lined with a silver band.
The lid shows the same design of Laurel leaves on its upper part while the finial shows an acanthus leaves bud.
The side of the lid is decorated with Fleur de Lys and bears a monogram with the letters GLE.
the Inside of the lid is covered with 18 carat gold.

This lovely ‘Bonbonnière’ or candy container will be perfect to display chocolate covered almonds or candied pecans!

The Hallmark is Minerve 1 -1st title (950/1000) – Hence 1838 to 1919 – Paris

The Makers Mark is for Georges FOUQUET & LAPAR and was registered in 1897. Georges FOUQUET LAPAR took over from his father in law after Leon LAPAR’s departure in July of 1897.
His mark shows his three initials with a spoon underneath.
He cancelled it in 1925.
His shops were located at 25 Rue de Choiseul in Paris.
