Antique French Silver Louis XV Style Chocolate Pot By Lapeyre

A Rare and Perfectly preserved Antique French Silver Chocolate Pot with its original Mahogany whisk and Handle by Henri Lapeyre.

Decorated In the Louis XV style it is slightly conical on a flat bottom.
The body is worked with twisted channels, while the upper edge of the body and the lid showcase a combed waves design typical of the Louis XV style.
The same design decorates the silver part of the handle and the duck bill shaped spout.

The wooden grip can be unscrewed and the lid has an acanthus leaves decorated and hinged opening to insert the whisk.
The wooden whisk is in perfect shape, with the handle removable from the whisk part so that it can be inserted into the chocolate pot easily.

The Hallmark is Minerva 1 – 1st title 950/1000 – for Paris 1838/1919

The Makers Mark is for Henri Lapeyre and shows his two initials separated by a spoon between two crescents.
He registered his Mark in 1895 and had his workshop 49 rue du Meslay in Paris.
