Antique French Silver Paten By ‘Maitre Orfèvres’ Jules Jamin And Eugène Chevron

This paten shows a beautiful center motif of a carved rose window with acanthus leaves worked in the mati style.
The window depicts the usual IHS initials in gothic letters.
The Paten is in fine shape.

The Hallmark is Minerva 1st title (950/1000) for Paris 1838-1919

The Makers Mark shows a J, and a C separated by the & sign topped by a military grenade.
The Mark is for Jules JAMIN and Eugène CHEVRON – It was registered on August 26th 1865 and cancelled on September 23rd 1879
Despite the emblem of the grenade the pair specialized in the Religious Silver Art!
Their workshop was located 23 Rue Michel Le Comte in the Marais area of Paris.
