Antique French Silver and Crystal Sugar Shaker By ‘Maitre Orfèvre’ Georges FOUQUET-LAPAR.

This lovely pair is actually quite impressive!
The bottom and top part is made of Gold washed solid Silver, while the centre part is made of heavy and beautifully ribbed white Crystal.

The two pieces are adorned with acanthus leaves on both the pedestal and the upper register.
The twisting cap is removable of course and is topped by a raspberry shaped finial.

The pair are in excellent shape and come in their original presentation box which also in great shape!

The Hallmark is Minerva 1 – 1st Title (950/1000) for Paris 1838/1919

The Makers Mark is for Georges FOUQUET-LAPAR and shows shows his three initials over silversmith’s chisel.
Georges Fouquet-Lapar took over in 1897 from his Father in Law Léon LAPAR.
He registered his mark on July 5th 1897.
His workshop was located 25 Rue de Choiseul in Paris.
