Beautiful 18th Century French Silver Private Stoup by De Courchelle

A beautiful 18th Century French Silver personal Stoup by Bathélémy de Courchelle from Lille.

A Beautiful work on the large private 18th century silver cross which surmounted by the titulus ‘INRI’, it features a Christ in the finely carved ‘Ronde bosse’.
The cross is decorated with beautifully stamped and chiseled seashells on three ends.
It is flanked by two cherubs standing on foliage..
The large stoup has a solid six sided lid with a floral finial on the lid and underneath the bowl.
A beautiful and large piece that would have graced a personal altar.
