Beautiful Antique French Silver Jardinière By A Gombert~Sold~

A Beautiful Louis XVI style Antique French Silver ‘Jardinière’ by Alphonse GOMBERT.
The ‘Jardinière’ or Flower centre table, if you would, was used in a variety of ways in order to embellish the table, by either setting flowers or fruits or other items that could enhance the set up.
I use mine during dinners with either roses or wilder plants and the effect is lovely!
You can judge by the presentation photos.

But you can use it in many other ways: to present fruits of course or sweets, to present caviar, or simply to decorate with a free standing candle in the middle of the table.

This particular piece shows a lovely cut out work on the gallery which holds a Silver insert, which is covered in 18 carat gold. A beautiful laurel leaves and ribbon garland weaves around the roses topped pillar gallery gracing it with its repetition.
The upper gallery shows a line of silver ‘ovas’.
The smaller sides are decorated with lion’s heads set in the centres, while medallions topped by a ribbon bow decorate the large sides.
The ribboned Medallion is still empty waiting for your initials…..

The work is exquisite and extremely refined, just gorgeous really! The gold covered brass insert is quite unique and original to the piece.
The silver gallery is in perfect condition without any losses or dents to it! A beautiful piece!
