Beautiful Antique Silver And Crystal Sugar Casket By Boulenger~Sold~

Beautiful Antique French Silver and Cobalt Crystal Sugar Casket by ‘Maitre Orfèvre’ Adolphe BOULENGER.
This beautiful piece is truly a work of Art!

The silver framework, which holds the cobalt blue crystal, is cut away to reveal the darker colour enhancing the whole effect and outlining the beautiful carvings.
On each side of the casket we have the same medallion stamped with an A V Monogram, surrounded by water reeds and floral arabesques.
The details on the leaves are magnificent and the photos you will see barely make it justice!
The remainder of the casket is decorated with beautiful acanthus leaves and floral scrolls, while the piece rests on four littles feets carved out of the same acanthus design.

We see the same acanthus leaves on the two handles that delicately spread out on each side.
The lid or cover is decorated with‘Guilloche’ acanthus leaves and oval pearl shapes, and is topped by a little flower knob shaped like a ‘cassolette’ (or covered dish) .

The size of the casket makes it ideal to either be used as a sugar bowl or serve as a condiment bowl, or even to showcase flowers.
The cobalt crystal interior is original to the piece and in perfect condition.
This lovely piece is in superb condition. No chips or dents, no losses to the silver, just GORGEOUS…
