Beautiful Antique Silver Pie Server by Doutre Roussel~Sold~

An absolutely lovely Antique French Silver Pie Serving implement or Pie Server by ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Claude DOUTRE ROUSSEL.

The handle is decorated with a chute of tulips and acanthus leaves as well as a floral medallion.
The back of the handle features a laurel chute and a B & C Monogram enclosed in a floral medallion.

The spoon itself is beautifully worked in the Music Allegory theme, showcasing a Mandolin, a tambourine, a flute and a trumpet amidst scrolls of beautifully rendered foliage as well as roses and tulips. The work is really exquisite.

This gorgeous piece is in impeccable condition.

The Hallmark is Minerve 1 -1st title – Hence 1838 to 1919 – Paris

The Makers Mark is for Claude DOUTRE ROUSSEL and shows a D and R and a double two domino with Paris written underneath.
His mark was registered on April 12th 1895. He had taken over the practice from his father Eugene DOUTRE ROUSSEL, and held his trade at 118 Rue Vieille du temple, in the Marais part of Paris.
