Beautiful Restoration Period French Silver Pie Server By JA Mesnier

A Beautiful Early 19th Century French Silver Pie Server by Maître Orfèvre Jacques-Aimé Mesnier.
Chiseled with a beautiful cut out design of leaves this important pie server is one of the loveliest we have come across.
The workmanship is exquisite!
The handle is attached to the ladle by a silver seashell and delicately etched.

The handle is in mahogany and is removable for better cleaning of the piece.
The main ladle part has been strengthened in the back by 2 silver prongs.

The Hallmark is the Michael Angelo Hallmark or ‘Poinçon au Vieillard’ – 1st title (950/1000) – Hence 1819 to 1838 – Paris

The Makers Mark is for Maître Orfèvre Jacques-Aimé Mesnier who registered his mark in 1818 and canceled it on June 15th 1846.
His mark shows an A and an M with a star above and a wreath of wheat below.
His Workshop was located rue des Deux Portes St Jean in Paris..
