An Absolutely Antique French Silver and Vermeil Strawberry Service Set by Maître Orfèvre Eugène Gustave MARMUSE, in the ‘Renaissance’ Style.
The set features a gorgeous Strawberry Service Spoon, the bowl of the spoon worked with both Silver and Vermeil or 18 carat gold in order to create more contrast and showcase the acanthus leaves and floral scrolls which are etched on it.
The spoon bowl links to the handle through a delicately worked acanthus leaves design.!
The Sugar Sifter Spoon is an amazing beauty with its bowl completely carved out in a foliage ‘repercé’, and showing the same 18 carat gold coated details.
The ‘repercé’ detail outlining the flowers and foliage is simply stunning!
The two elements sport the same silver handles decorated with a leather armor and helmet as well as arrows and floral scrolls.
Both pieces are in great state! Absolutely no marks or scratches and the vermeil is still completely present!
A beautiful find! And a wonderful piece to use for dessert.
