Charming and Delicate 18th Century French School Ink Drawing Of Playing Putti

This Charming and playful scene showcases eight little cherubs playing and feasting, in a clearing with a castle looming in the distance.
The strokes are precise and powerful, done in brown ink.
The scene is probably a rendition of the youth of Bacchus, due to the depiction of some of 5 of the putti feasting and drinking wine.

This charming drawing might have been presented for a ‘Sopraporte’
The ‘Sopraporte’ were rectangular paintings that were set to decorate the upper lintel of a door and were presented as a project in a smaller version to the owner of the houses, before being replicated in full colors, in situ.

The frame is 18th century, gilt wood and in fine condition., tough it has been at one point re-gilded.
The drawing is sincerely lovely

The Drawing measures 7.75 inches by 2.25 inches

It was purchased in Nice in February 2019.
