Charming Antique Silver And Crystal Butter Dish By Fizaine~Sold~

Charming Antique French Silver and Crystal Butter Dish by ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Auguste Louis FIZAINE.

The piece outlines the refinement the table attained in the mid to late 1800s and very early 1900s.
The delicate crystal bowl is beautifully worked with a Greek Style Décor or ‘Decor de Grecques’, the design engraved in the upper side of the while the lower part of the dish is simply frosted.
The same Greek style décor graces the sides of the silver salver along with two medallions containing a LR monogram surrounded by a pearl contour.
The Cover of the dish shows again the same classical Greek frieze along with the medallions.
The highlight of the piece is definitely the Finial or ‘Fretel’ which showcases a charming cow walking on a grassy knoll; the details on the cow are just gorgeous!

This lovely butter dish can be also be used to serve marmalade or sweet cream!
The model is extremely rare to come by and is in perfect condition! No losses to the silver or the crystal. Just beautiful…
