Charming Silver Sugar Casket By Debain & Flamant ~Sold~

This Gorgeous Antique French Silver Crystal Sugar Casket is by ‘Maîtres Orfèvres’ Édouard DEBAIN and Louis Frédéric FLAMANT.
The silver framework, which holds the cobalt blue crystal, is cut away to reveal the darker colour enhancing the whole effect and outlining the beautiful carvings.
On each side of the bowl two different flower bouquets are carved out.
The framework shows beautiful and elegant silver arabesques as well as acanthus leaves scrolls.
The vessel rests on four feet outlined by acanthus leaves.

The cover is decorated with a gadroon design and floral scrolls and is topped by a lovely bird with outstretched wings which forms what we call the ‘Frétel’ (or Finial)
The size of the bowl makes it ideal to either be used as a sugar bowl or serve as a condiment bowl, or even to showcase flowers.
The composition is typical of the Napoleon III period.
The cobalt crystal interior is original to the piece and in perfect condition.
It is in superb condition. No chips or dents. Just gorgeous!
