Charming Oval Grisaille Oil Painting of Putti, School Of Boucher

Probably prepared as a study for a ceiling décor, this charming piece is done in shades of grey oil painting on canvas and showcases three putti playing among the clouds.
Their chubby legs and faces are typical of the Boucher School, charming yet forcefully drawn and full of life and mischief.

François BOUCHER, 1703/1770, created many pieces featuring putti and cupids in various allegorical scenes.

The oval 18th Frame is lovely, in gilt wood with sculpted laurel leaves and flower clusters.
