Charming Set Of French Gilt Silver Salt Cellars By Legendre~Sold~

Charming set of Six Antique French Silver Salt Cellars by ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Henri Legendre.

These lovely French Silver open salt caddies or cellars are decorated in the Louis XVI Style, with a ‘Vermeil’ (18 carat gold, over solid silver) flower garland circling a clear crystal interior.
The upper rim is decorated with a ribbon which holds up the flower garlands.
Each salt cellar stands on delicate Corinthian pillars.

Six dainty spoons complete the set, decorated with a flower chute and featuring a shell shaped bowl.
The Set is adorable and is very good condition with no loss to the Vermeil or the Crystal.

The box is in excellent condition with only very minor losses.

The Hallmark is Minerve -1st title (950/1000)- 1838 -1919 -Paris

The Makers Mark is for Henri Legendre and features an H and an L separated by an axe.
The mark was registered on July 3rd 1883 and canceled in August of the same year.
His workshop were located 10 rue de Port Mahon in Paris.
