Charming Set Of French Silver Salt Cellars By Blanchard~Sold~

Charming set of four Antique French Silver Salt Cellars by ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Louis BLANCHARD.

These lovely French Silver open salt caddies or cellars are decorated in the Louis XVI Style, with a ‘Vermeil’ (18 carat gold, over solid silver) flower garland circling a violet crystal interior.
The upper rim is capped by a gilded border decorated with an interlacing geometrical design.

Four dainty spoons complete the set, decorated with a flower chute and featuring a shell shaped bowl.
The violet color of the crystal is striking and very dainty; a charming variation on the more regular blue or white crystal interiors.

The box is in excellent condition with only very minor losses.
The weight given above is the full weight of the set as the ‘Vermeil’ circling is not removable from the crystal part.
The spoon’s weight is 50 oz.
