A Charming Antique French Silver And Vermeil Ice Cream Spoon Set by Maître Orfèvre Joseph CROSSARD.

This lovely set of 12 spoons is done in the Rocaille style, but shows a ‘Japonisant’ (or Japanese style) trend in the floral carvings of the spoon bowls.
The handle of the spoons with acanthus leaves patterns as well as floral scrolls and are each monogrammed with the letters JR in a central medallion.
All pieces are in good state with no losses
They come in their original presentation box, which apart from a very slight tear in the silk lining is in very good shape

The length of the spoons is 6.7 inches

The Hallmark is ‘Minerve’ 1 -1st title (950/1000)- 1838 -1919– Paris

The Makers Mark is for ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Joseph CROSSARD, showing a bishop’s crosier running through the letters ARD with a J underneath.
He was active between 1900 and 1920 in Paris, 36 rue de Montmorency.
