Charming Suite Of 12 Antique French Silver Oyster Forks By Ernie~Sold~

Charming Suite of 12 French Silver Oyster Forks by ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Edouard Ernie
This lovely set takes after the Louis XV style of decoration, or Rocaille with the handles manually carved out in floral scrolls, ending with a lovely design of a cherub’s head in the clouds.

The tines and fork are solid silver and decorated with a spray of acanthus leaves.
Just gorgeous!
They are perfect to hold and handle with a really great shape.
Each fork handle has both the Minerva 1 silver title (950/1000) as well as the Makers Mark.
On the tines the Minerva is 2nd title 800/1000 for added strength.

They are in perfect condition.
The Makers Mark is for ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Edouard ERNIE.
It features his initials separated by a gaiter.
Ernie briefly partnered with Henri Gabert between 1879 and 1882. On July 11 1882 Ernie, registered his own mark and took over the workshop that his stepfather Jules Guérin had created earlier in the 1870s.
His workshop was located 7 rue Réaumur in Paris.
