Charming XIX Century French School Ink Drawing Of A Romantic Scene

Charming XIX Century French School Ink Drawing Of A Romantic Scene.

The scene presented is very much in keeping with the romantic yet ‘osées’ paintings that where all the rage under Jean Honoré Fragonard and his students.
In it we see a young lady closing the rooms shutters while a young man tiptoes out of the room, holding his shoes in his hand. The young lady’s clothes are slightly disarrayed, and the bed and the bed covers fall to the floor..
These Bedroom or Boudoir scenes where extremely prized in the early part of the 19th Century in France!
The Ink Drawing is so well done it nearly passes for a print, but the masterful ink pen strokes give it away. The drawing is highlighted with white chalk.

The Frame is typically early 19th Century and worked in gilt wood.
It is in perfect shape!

The Drawing is 4.33 inches high by 3.14 inches wide
