Delicate Antique French Vermeil Strawberry Service Set by Maître Orfèvre Charles BARRIER.

This lovely set of 12 spoons and a large Service Spoon was precisely created to enjoy fresh strawberries.
All pieces are carved in the shape of a delicate Seashell, typical of those implements. The handles are decorated in the Louis XVI style with floral chutes and ribbons.

All pieces are in great state the Vermeil (18 carat gold) wash is perfectly preserved.
No losses.
The individual spoons are 5.11 inches long.
The service spoon is 7.50 inches long.

These sets are quite rare to find as often families would opt for a more ‘generic’ style of dessert spoon.
A charming find, perfect to enjoy a refreshing serving of fresh Strawberries in the summer.

The Hallmark is Minerva 2- 2nd title (800/1000) – Hence 1838 to 1919 – Paris

The Makers Mark is for Maitre Orfèvre Charles BARRIER and shows an C and a B separated by a Gaiter topped by a Star.
The mark was registered in 1905 in Paris, and was cancelled in 1923.
