Delicate Antique French Vermeil Strawberry Service Set by Maîtres Orfèvres PAGES Frères.
This lovely set of 12 spoons and a large Service Spoon was precisely created to enjoy fresh stawberries.
All pieces are carved in the shape of a delicate Seashell, typical of those implements. The handles adopt the same refined seashell design at the tip along with light feathers adorning the sides and little rosettes.
All pieces are in great state the Vermeil (18 carat gold) wash is perfectly preserved.
The individual spoons are 5.11 inches long.
The service spoon is 8.66 inches long.
A charming find, perfect to enjoy a refreshing serving of fresh Strawberries in the summer.
The Hallmark is Minerva 1-1st title (950/1000) – Hence 1838 to 1919 – Paris
The Makers Mark is for PAGE Frères and shows a P separated by a Gaiter topped by a star, from the letters Fres.
Their mark was registered in 1901 and cancelled in 1905. They were succeeded by Charles BARRIER.
Their shop was located 7 Rue Reaumur in Paris.
