A Charming Antique French Gilt Silver (or Vermeil) and Crystal Sugar Bowl and Sugar Sifter Spoon by ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Édouard CLERC.
The crystal is beautifully worked in the Intaglio Style and is wheel cut in a star formation at the bottom.
In a very rare twist the full bowl is enclosed in the silver gilt casing worked in an incredibly delicate band of gold plated Antique silver showcasing floral scrolls, delicate flowing ribbons, acanthus leaves and pine cones.
The sugar sifter spoon is also in gold plated Antique silver with the handle delicately worked with ribbons, roses and laurel leaves, while the bowl is carved out in a sun swirl pattern.
Though it is a sugar bowl, it can be used in a variety of ways: for sweets per example.
The piece is in excellent condition, with no chips or marks, just beautiful perfection!
The Bowl and the Sugar Sifter Spoon are in their original and gorgeous presentation box which is in great condition.
The measures given are for the sugar bowl.
The length of the Sugar Sifter is 5.90 inches and it weighs 0.85 oz of silver.
