Delicate Antique Silver Pastry Tongs By Eschwege ~Sold~

A delicate and refined Antique French Silver Pastry Tongs by ‘Maitre Orfèvre’ Eschwège.
Eschwege is one of the rare marks that we still collect, though it brings us a little later in time, as we love the refinement of their pieces!

This gorgeous piece is chiselled with delicate foliage scrolls, flowers and lattice patterns.
The sides also show angel heads peering over clouds that could actually be renditions of ‘Eole’, or the Wind God.
The handles are carved with leaves and the center knob is decorated by a flower.

Though originally conceived to serve pastries, it can be used for bread, danishes or fruits…
The work is lovely and the piece is in brilliant condition with no marks or losses!
The width given above is that of the larger part of the tongs while the height is that of the scissors part.
