Delicate Antique French Silver Sugar Sifter Spoon by ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Jules MONNEY
The bowl of the spoon is in beautiful ‘repercé’ motif showing a perfect Rose Window cut out.
The handle is worked in the Russian Style a simple, yet very delicate, ‘Guilloche’ design on the sides and a geometric etching on the lower end.
The work is extremely refined and the piece is in gorgeous condition.
It is just a perfectly elegant and refined design.
The Spoon is ‘Vermeillée’ or 18 carat gold coated.
Lovely to use to sprinkle sugar over fresh strawberries or fruits!

The Hallmark is Minerve -1st title (950/1000) -1838 -1919-Paris
The Makers Mark shows an M and a J separated by a Cup. It stands for ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Jules MONNEY, who registered his mark on October 31st 1884, and cancelled it on May 10th 1895.
His workshop was located 77 rue du Temple in the Marais area of Paris.
