Delicate French XVIII Century Brown Ink Drawing Of a River and Village.
The scenery drawing in brown ink and ink wash is bucolic and romantically rendered.
It is reminiscent of Pillement in its rendition, with several scenes depicted:
The village in the background takes center stage, while the peasant under the thatched roof is seen carrying either a fishing rod or a baton.
On the right-hand side can be seen am old fashioned hoist which permits unloading barges.
The whole scenery is light and well-drawn, quite charming.
The Drawing is 4 ¼ inches x 9 ½ inches
The Gilt wood frame is 10 inches x 15 inches
