Delicate Pair Of Antique Silver and Crystal Fruit or Cake Display Plates by Martial GAUTHIER

They consist of two beautifully worked silver pedestals and two silver rimed heavy crystal plates.
The two plates are wheel cut with a star shape in the middle.
The Crystal plates rest on Silver basis which feature four Ram headed feet linked by silver roses and fruits garlands and ribbon bows.
The Rams heads are beautifully detailed and end in tiny silver hooves.
These gorgeous display plates can be used in a myriad way, from fruit presentation to cake display or cookies plates to even flowers!
They are both are in excellent condition! No chips or damages to the crystal or the silver.

The Crystal plates are 9.05 inches wide
The Silver pedestal are 8.26 inches wide.

The Hallmark is Minerve 1 -1st title (950/1000) – Hence 1838 to 1919 – Paris

The Maker’s Mark is for Maitre Orfèvre Martial GAUTHIER
His Mark shows an M and a G with a ‘star’ flanked by two Greek crosses. The Mark was registered in 1888, and cancelled in 1902.
His offices were located 39 rue Rambuteau in Paris.
