Delicate Restauration Antique Silver Sugar Tongs By AC Clérin

A Delicate Antique French Silver Sugar Tongs Pair by Maître Orfèvre Aimée Catherine Clérin.

This charming Pair of Sugar Tongs is delicately chiseled and open worked with floral scrolls and a pineapple.
The end of the tongs is simply olive shaped with a frieze of darts.
The décor is typical of the French Restauration Period which lasted from the 1815 to 1830.

The Hallmark is Michael Angelo-1st title (950/1000) – 1819 -1838 – Paris

The Makers Mark is for ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Aimée Catherine Clérin, also known as the Veuve Lecours.
It shows an A C C separated by a Chalice.
The Mark was registered in 1817 and this is her 3rd Mark, however she first registered her Mark on February 12th 1807, it then featured her 3 initials with a winged head topped by a crown.
She was the Widow Lecour, but was a Silversmith of her own right.
Her workshop was located 11 Place de Thionville in Paris.
