The Makers Mark is what makes this piece quite rare.
It belongs to Jacques Florent Joseph BEYDEL who specialized in condiment sets and larger tableware.
His mark (we apologize for the barely readable photograph but it is very badly placed) shows his initials FJJB surrounding the design of an egg.
Beydel registered his mark: ‘An V, du 24 Prairial (or Year 5, 24th Prairial)’ under the Republican Calendar set up in 1792.
Which translates to June 12th 1798. He cancelled his mark in 1809.
