A Gorgeous Antique French Silver And Vermeil Strawberry Serving Set by Maître Orfèvre Henri GABERT.

This complete set is in its original box, which shows only light scruff marks on the outside of it but is in impeccable.
All pieces feature beautiful ‘A La Russe’ or Russian Style handles, carved with an amazing delicacy with a ribbon like motif doted with rosettes. The handles end with an acanthus motif and a flower knob.

The set features a gorgeous Strawberry Service Spoon, the bowl of the spoon worked with both silver and Vermeil or 18 carat gold in order to create more contrast and showcase the flower bouquets etched on it. The side of the spoon bowl also features a beautiful ‘repercé’ detail outlining a flower spread and foliage.
The Strawberry Spoon is 9.1 inches long and 3.6 inches wide at the bowl.

The Sugar Sifter Spoon is an absolute beauty with its bowl completely carved out in a foliage ‘repercé, the center part on the back left in silver in order to highlight the details, while the remainder is entirely covered in 18 carat gold. The bowl of the spoon attaches to the Russian Style handle with a gorgeous bouquet of acanthus leaves.
The Sugar Sifter is 7.9 inches long and 2.6 inches wide at the bowl.
The third implement is a Sugar Tongs, with the same lovely Russian Style handles ending in delicately defined lion’s paws.The Sugar Tongs is 7.4 inches long.

All pieces are in great state! Absolutely no marks or scratches and the ‘vermeil’ is still completely present!

The Hallmark is Minerva 1-1st title – 1838 -1919 – Paris

The Makers Mark is for ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Henri GABERT
His Mark was registered in 1882 and cancelled in 1901. It features an H and a G separated by a ‘Gabion’.
He held shop at 112 Rue de Turenne in the Marais part of Paris.
