Delicate Silver Foie Gras Server By Henri Gabert~Sold~

An absolutely lovely Antique French Silver Foie Gras Serving implement or Pâté Server by ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Henri GABERT.

The handle is in the Luis XV ‘Rocaille’ style.
It is decorated with a chute of tulips and floral scrolls and ends with a charming knob showcasing 2 cupids’ faces surrounded by clouds.

The front of the server itself is decorated with a floral arabesque, while the back holds a Monogram reading LH.

This lovely piece is in impeccable condition and in its original presentation box which is in good condition and is stamped with the same Monogram.
Though originally used to serve ‘Foie Gras’ it can be used to serve pâté…

The Hallmark is Minerve 1 -1st title (950/1000) -1838 to 1919 – Paris

The Makers Mark is for ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Henri GABERT
His Mark was registered in 1882 and cancelled in 1901. It features an H and a G separated by a ‘Gabion’.
He held shop at 112 Rue de Turenne in the Marais part of Paris.
