Delightful XVIII Century French Ink Drawing Of Four Putti~Sold~

A Delightful French School rendition of four Putti in ‘Trompe l’Oeil’ in an alcove in ink and brown and white wash.
The 4 cherubs are lined with brown ink shadowing to create an optical illusion giving more depth to the drawing.
At first one only sees 3 cherubs until you take a closer look and find the fourth one cheekily hiding on the left hand side!
A perfectly charming piece…

The drawing is set in a lovely 19th century period gilt wood frame, which in superb state.

This charming French XVIII School Antique Drawing was acquired at the Crait & Muller in Paris in 2017 under # 72.

The Drawing measures 5.15 inches high x 6.58 width.
The Frame measures 12.58 inches high x 14.58 width.
