Eagle Headed French Silver Chocolate Pot By Gustave Martin

A Rare and Perfectly preserved Antique French Silver Chocolate Pot with its silver handled whisk by Maître Orfèvre Gustave Martin.

Decorated In the Empire style it is slightly conical on a flat bottom with a single line of laurel leaves on the upper part.
The same design decorates the silver part of the handle.
The spout shows a beautiful carving of an eagle’s head.
The wooden grip can be unscrewed, and the lid has an acorn resting on a leaf crown which is hinged and opens to insert the whisk.
The wooden whisk is in perfect shape, with the handle covered with silver.

The Hallmark is Minerva 1 – 1st title 950/1000 – for Paris 1838/1919

The Makers Mark is for Maître Orfèvre Gustave Martin and shows his two initials separated by a horseshoe.
He registered his Mark in 1913 and had his workshop 19 rue Morand in Paris.
