Elegant and Impressive Antique French Silver Bread Basket by ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Tétard Frères.

This gorgeous find is worked with a an elegant pierced garland of laurel leaves flowing through the center register
The Basket is round shaped with the border of the upper register carved with a similar laurel leaf design.

It is a lovely object, simple yet refined, and easy to use.
You can use it to display bread of course, but also Danishes or muffins, or fruits or even flowers!

The Hallmark is Minerve -1st title (950/1000) – 1838 -1919 –Paris

The Makers Mark is for Tétard Frères and is written out.
It is shown as a Mark with the T Frères topped by a kettle.
The Mark was registered in 1903, taking over from Edmond TETARD.
The workshop was located 4 rue Béranger in Paris
