Elegant Antique French Silver Melon Forks Set by ‘Maîtres Orfèvres’ Edme PARISOT & Edouard GALLOIS.
This lovely set is composed of 6 Forks, with Louis XV style silver handles and stylish solid silver tines.
The handles showcase the initials DL.

The Forks are double edge, with the sharpened lower edge able to cut through the melon.
The balance is perfect, making it extremely easy and efficient to use.

While it was created with Melon in mind, it is a perfect Fruit service set, and can be used with a variety of fruits or eve with desserts.
They are a perfect addition to a set and easy to place due to their lovely and elegant design.

The Hallmark is Minerve 1 -1st title (950/1000) – Hence 1838 to 1919 – Paris

The Mark is for Edme PARISOT & Edouard GALLOIS who registered their joint mark on May 6th 1865 and canclled it on February 6th 1895.
It features their initials along with a Saint Louis Cross.
The tines also features the TOURON spelled out; Edme PARISOT had succeeded Auguste TOURON who was Napoleon’s the Third’s Master silversmith.
Parisot was a particularly successful Culter and was considered an innovator. He received several medals at the Universal Fairs including a gold one in 1867.
He had taken over Touron’s Paris Workshop at 101 Rue de Richelieu
