Elegant Antique Silver Selfish Coffee Pot By R Beunke~Sold~

An Elegant and charming French Antique Silver ‘Egoiste’ Coffee Pot by ‘Maitre Orfèvre’ Rudolphe BEUNKE.
This Silver Coffee Pot is called ‘Egoïste’ or Selfish in French as it holds roughly 4 Espressos or 2 larger coffees but no more! Hence the connotation of Selfish!

The very simple and elegant body is baluster shaped and has a garland of lovely rosettes circling the edge of the baluster.
The lid is dome shaped and topped by a Finial, or ‘Frétel’, in the form of an acorn, resting on a crown of leaves.

The handle is made of rosewood lightly polished and is attached to the coffee pot by a rosette

A lovely piece that does have some light age wear in the form of two light dents on the lower part. However they do not affect the beauty of the piece.

The Hallmark is Minerve 1 -1st title – Hence 1838 to 1919 – Paris
