A Rare and Elegant Empire Style French Silver Confiturier by Ytasse and Fourneret.
It stands on a geometrical tripod decorated with acanthus leaves ending sheep hoofs.
The handles are simply rolled into a rosette center, while the lower part of the tripod is linked by a geometrical frieze.
The upper part of the Confiturier is decorated with a tulip and marigold openwork wreath.
The lid is topped by aa butterfly!
While usually made for 12 guests, this particular Confiturier comes with 6 spoons in Gilt Silver, which makes it quite rare.
It very elegant!
The Hallmark is Minerve 1 -1st title (950/1000)– 1838/1919 – Paris
The Makers Mark is for Ytasse & Fourneret which was registered on January 27th 1897
It shows their initials separated by a standing sheep.
They were located 17 rue Reaumur in Paris.
