Elegant Ormolu Pair of Athenian Shaped French Directory Period Candlesticks
This beautiful example of the Directory Era is in bronze with a dual brown and gold patina.
The Ormolu and bronze patina are beautiful and intact.
The tripod is made with a latticework attached in the center with a gilded Rosette and ending with clawed lions’ paws surrounded by foliage.
The triangular base has curved sides and a gilded patina to contrast the tripod.
The upper part of the Athenian is surmounted by a fire pot with removable lid forming a candleholder.
The base is in yellow Sienna marble.
The whole effect is striking and gorgeous.
The pair is in great condition.
