Elegant French Silver Presentation Plate By Bloch Eschwege
This lovely yet practical plate is perfect for presenting cookies or muffins, though originally used to display fruits.
The round and slightly curved plateau is delicately carved with hollowed out oak leaves circling the sides with a silver pearl border above it.
The plate rests on a round pedestal which shows a the same silver pearl line.
The Hallmark is Minerve -1st title – 1838 -1911 Paris
The Makers Mark is for ‘Maitres Orfèvres’ Bloch Eschwege and shows a B and an E separated by a diamond shape.
The mark was registered in 1920 and was cancelled about 26 years later. They operated first at 23 Rue Des fontaines in Paris and then moved to 49 rue Meslay very close to the Porte Saint Martin in Paris.
