Elegant Pair of Louis XVI Style Ormolu Cassolettes

An elegant Pair of Antique French, Louis XVI Style, Gilt Bronze Cassolettes.

The two Cassolettes show a round pedestal lined with laurel leaves and a geometric décor.
The Body rises in the form of an antique amphora and is decorated in the upper part by beautifully detailed lion’s heads, which hold laurel wreaths in their jaws.

The upper level is decorated with chiseled laurel leaves and topped by a berry.
The top part is reversible enabling the pair to be turned either into a Pot Pourri or Candlesticks.

This beautiful pair is entirely made of Gilt Bronze or Ormolu and dates back to circa 1870.
