Elegant Pair of Ormolu Louis XVI Style French Sconces.
Probably dating to the late 1800s this charming pair is shaped in the lightest expression of the genre.
Presenting only one arm of light it is shaped to resemble a quiver and arrows form.
The lower of the two sconces is decorated with engraved laurel leaves while it ends with a pine cone.
The light arm shows acanthus leaves on its upper register.
THe style is perfectly Louis XVI, but in its simplicity it looks quite modern.
Late XIX, French Gilt Bronze
The pair has yet to be fitted with an electric wire – it was previously used with candles.
