An exquisite Antique French Silver and Vermeil Strawberry Service Set by Maître Orfèvre Eugène ROUSSEL DOUTRE, in the Rocaille or Rococo Style.
The set features a gorgeous Strawberry Service Spoon, the bowl of the spoon worked with both Silver and Vermeil or 18 carat gold in order to create more contrast and showcase the leaves and flowers and the charming blue tit which are etched on it.
The spoon bowl links to the handle through a delicately worked shell and a rose garland!
The edge of the strawberry spoon is worked in a beautiful ‘repercé’ motif.
The Sugar Sifter Spoon which is an absolute beauty with its bowl completely carved out in a foliage ‘repercé’, and showing the same 18 carat gold coated details.
The two elements sport the same solid silver handle decorated with rose garlands as well as rococo shells designs.
They are both marked with a T G monogram.
The ‘repercé’ detail outlining the flowers and foliage is simply stunning!
Both pieces are in great state! Absolutely no marks or scratches and the vermeil is still completely present!
A beautiful find! And a wonderful piece to use for dessert!
