Gorgeous French Antique Silver and Crystal ‘Compotiers’ or presentation dishes by Maitre Orfèvre Joseph CROSSARD

Worked in the Louis XVI style the bodies of the ‘Compotiers’ are made of heavy engraved white crystal framed on the upper rim by a beautiful chiseled gilded silver band.
The design is extremely delicate and wonderfully executed.
The bowl rests on a ‘Piédouche’ or pedestal in gilded French silver, circled top and bottom by a fringe of laurel vines with a rosette and ribbon center design.

The crystal is worked in the intaglio style, with garlands of laurel leaves.

They can be used in a myriad way, from Fruit presentation to Compote bowls, to even flowers or caviar for that matter!

They both are in very good condition with one minor dent on the silver pedestal of one of the compotier.
They are made on purpose with a slight difference in the crystal bowl.
