Gorgeous Antique French Silver Bonbons Set by Molle~Sold~

A Gorgeous Antique French Silver and Vermeil Bonbons Service Set by ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Edmond MOLLE.

As usual with this wonderful Master the beauty is in every detail.
Edmond MOLLE specialized in Art Nouveau décor and this set is a beautiful testimony to his art.

All 4 pieces are decorated with Iris flowers and water reeds as well as floral scrolls.
The work is done in high and low relief, and the artist payed with the use of contrasting gold applied to silver and ‘amati’ silver (dulled silver) to highlight the delicacy of his work.

Starting by looking at the full picture of the implements, on the left hand side we have delicate Fondant Spoon; Fondants were a kind of light melting candy; it measures 5.90 inches.
The second implement is a delicate Candied Fruit fork, measuring 5.90 inches long.
Third from left are delicate Sugar tongs which are 5.11 inches long.
The 4th piece is a ‘Bonbons’ Spoon or Candy Spoon, showcasing again the same delicate ‘repercé’ that features on the Fondant spoon it measures 5.90 inches long

All pieces are in great state! The ‘Vermeil’ wash is intact.
They come in their original presentation box, which is in good condition.
The Hallmark is Minerva 1-1st title (950/1000) – 1838 -1919 – Paris
The Makers Mark is for ‘Maîtres Orfèvres’ Edmond MOLLE.
It show an E and the Name ‘MOLLE’written out with a clover leaf underneath. Edmond Molle was the successor to Alxandre Torrez. He registered his mark on May 11th 1898. The Mark was cancelled on September 25th 1919. He was located at 114 Rue Du Temple in the Marais area of Paris.
